Power Up Mode: To win this type of race you either need to come up with a strategy or you need to get lucky at crucial situations. Decision making and timing also play an important rule in this type of race.
Tips
[1] Always try to save the shield and keep switching it.
[2]Try to use the rocket & lightning when the opponent is trying to perform the shortcut.
[3]Avoid using UFO’s on teammates.
[4]Use smoke screen before attempting a shortcut to blind your opponent when he attempts the same
[5]When you are on the last lap, make sure you save one shield and NOS for the end.
Speed Race: To win this type of race you need to master the art of backdrift & countersteer as it cut’s down on time in most of the maps. Choosing the proper path, executing the shortcuts to perfection are key to win such races.

[2] Practice until you perfect each and every map.
[3]Use the NOS at proper places to gain extra lead.
